Well, you guys, it zipped! It actually zipped! I had to take a picture.
A) I had the confidence to even attempt trying it on
B) It actually fit
C) I didn't instantly burst into tears upon seeing my belly rolls or my jiggly legs
D) I took a picture
E) I did not crop my legs out of the picture
F) I PUT THE PICTURE ON THE INTERNET WITH NO FILTER WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE MY ROLLS AND JIGGLY LEGS!
Seeing this picture just makes me smile; it represents so much for me. All the effort, all the work I've done over the last 13 months--it's so worth it just to have this picture and to be able to have so many reasons why I love it. I'm still fighting the voices in my head that are saying, "Ugh, your legs are so ugly," "Definitely can't post this without cropping it," "You really need some Spanx..." But you know what? I'm ignoring them. I'm posting the picture despite what those voices are telling me, because I deserve it.
You simply radiate in that photo, and it has nothing to do with the garment color you are wearing. Kudos! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look smokin'!!
ReplyDeleteOur Target's must be similar! Look at you! You are so happy in that pic! That alone is worth it whether or not you bought the dress. Great NSVs... all of them!!!
ReplyDeleteLook at that awesome smile!!!
ReplyDeleteTargets layout for plus size clothing sucks. A lot of times I will pick up a cute top then see it is maternity. Damn you, Target.
LOVE THE NSV's! GO YOU!
I'm glad you posted the photo because the truth is, all of us have our self-image issues and it's good to see and hear from someone else who is normal.
ReplyDeleteI hate how Target has the plus sizes mixed in with maternity. Seriously?
Yay!!! Our Target hides the plus size clothes that too - so frustrating! I confess, I did buy a maternity tee once because it was back near my section and I decided no one but me would know it was maternity. :) Cute dress! Good for you for trying it on and posting the pic!
ReplyDeleteI actually just bought a maternity tank from there... the liz lange tanks are long and stretchy and really hold their shape, and there's no ruching so it doesn't even look like it's maternity. I still wear mine that I got in 2011--they are that awesome! I haven't found any that compare.
DeleteGood for you Christina! I love NSV's. I hope you have plenty more. You are a beautiful woman, and I am delighted that you posted the photo.
